Official Contest Rules
These rules apply to every giveaway and contest run by BC Events Buzz ("the Organizer"), based in Surrey, British Columbia, unless a specific giveaway post states otherwise. Effective October 13, 2026.
1. No purchase necessary
No purchase is ever required to enter or win. Entering never improves or worsens your chances beyond the entries described in the giveaway post.
2. Eligibility
Giveaways are open to legal residents of British Columbia who have reached the age of majority in BC (19), unless a giveaway post states a different eligibility (for example, an all-ages show where a parent or guardian must claim the prize). Employees of a giveaway's prize sponsor for that specific giveaway are not eligible for that giveaway.
3. How to enter
Each giveaway post on our Instagram account (@bceventsbuzz) or this website states the prize, the entry method, and the entry deadline. Typical entry: follow @bceventsbuzz, like the giveaway post, and tag a friend in the comments. One entry per person per giveaway unless the post says otherwise. Entries that are incomplete, fraudulent, or from automated accounts are void.
4. Entry period
Entries open when the giveaway post is published and close at the date and time (Pacific) stated in that post. Late entries are not eligible.
5. Prizes
The prize for each giveaway is described in its post (for example, a pair of tickets to a named event). Prizes are awarded as described, are not transferable for cash, and have no cash alternative unless the post states one. If an event is postponed, the prize follows the event's new date where the seller honours the tickets; if an event is cancelled outright, the Organizer will substitute a prize of equal or greater value or re-draw for a future event.
6. Draw and odds
One winner is drawn at random from all eligible entries within 7 days of the entry deadline. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
7. Winner notification and skill-testing question
The selected entrant is contacted by Instagram direct message (or email, if the giveaway used email entry) and must reply within 48 hours. Before being confirmed as the winner, the selected entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question, as required for Canadian contests. If the selected entrant does not reply in time, cannot be contacted, or answers incorrectly, another entrant may be drawn.
8. Prize delivery
Digital tickets are transferred electronically to the winner. Physical prizes are delivered or made available for pickup as stated in the giveaway post.
9. Publicity
By accepting a prize, the winner agrees the Organizer may announce their first name and city (for example, "Congratulations to Priya from Burnaby!") on the website and social channels.
10. Personal information
Information collected for a giveaway is used only to administer that giveaway (contacting the winner and delivering the prize) and is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. It is never sold.
11. General
Giveaways are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Meta. The Organizer may amend these rules or cancel a giveaway if circumstances require it (for example, an event cancellation or technical failure); any change will be posted on this page or the giveaway post. The Organizer's decisions on all matters relating to a giveaway are final. These rules are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada.
