⛔ Key restrictions in the operator’s own policyRichmond does NOT issue permits or take bookings for general park use: with the exception of sport fields that can be booked by local sport organizations or groups, most park sites are first-come, first-served with no exclusive use (Park Use Guidelines). In parks generally: amplified sound is prohibited; structures, tents, bouncy castles, fences, poles, stages, bleachers and portable toilets are prohibited; signage, banners and advertisements are not permitted; the sale of goods/services or collection of an admission fee is prohibited; no alcoholic beverages may be dispensed, sold or consumed at any time; no open fires (charcoal barbeques count as open fire — propane barbeques only); no electricity or water sources are provided; no vehicles on grass. Exemptions may be granted case-by-case via the Events/Rentals Office ([email protected]). Bookable outdoor sport facilities: all groups must provide comprehensive general liability insurance of minimum $5,000,000 naming the City of Richmond and School District #38 as additional insured; payment is due in full at booking (one-time) or on contract confirmation (block bookings); field lighting is permitted until 11:00 pm; alcohol and smoking (including cannabis and vapour products) are not permitted at sport facilities (Outdoor Sport Facility Terms and Conditions, rev. November 25, 2025). Most picnic sites do not require rentals; London Heritage Farm and Woodwards Landing Campsite are the listed exceptions requiring rental bookings (Parks & Outdoor Event Venues page).
