⛔ Key restrictions in the operator’s own policyCommunity Use Department books public use of district schools including classrooms, gymnasiums, playing fields and parking lots; applications at least 15 calendar days in advance and renters must be 19 years of age (eBase Community Use portal). Per Administrative Procedure 550 (Community Use of Schools, amended April 2021): no sub-letting of facilities is permitted; there shall be no consumption of alcohol and no smoking on District property; 'We do not allow birthday parties, food or drinks in our gyms'; floor hockey is not permitted in any District gymnasium; the eBase portal adds that classrooms are 'Not at this time' available, 'We do not book tournaments. Only nightly/weekly practice or play are in our gyms and fields', and facilities are not available on Saturdays and Sundays at this time due to staff shortage (week nights 6:00pm–9:30pm, mid September to mid June); AP 550 also bars motorcycle training or practice and electric bicycle training or selling by companies in parking lots, and Claremont and Parkland tracks are not available for out-of-District use without District approval. NO RATE CARD WAS VERIFIED: AP 550 says rental rates are 'as listed on the District website' and the eBase FAQ refers users to 'the user fee schedule on our website', but no fee schedule with rates could be found on saanichschools.ca when checked 2026-10-23, so rateCard is empty rather than estimated.
